ANTI-SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING POLICY

Modern Slavery is a term which encompasses slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour. Human trafficking is defined as arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to that person being exploited.

This statement is made on behalf of Archway Roadmaster UK Ltd pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’) and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2021.

Our business structure and activities

Archway Roadmaster UK Ltd. provides a comprehensive contract hire service for road repairs using our flagship product, the Roadmaster® Spray Injection Patcher, which incorporates the latest technology to allow a single operator to carry out road repairs from the safety of the chassis cab.

We are committed to our vision to shape the future of road maintenance with a continuous focus on our values. We are small company with under 50 staff, 56% are permanent employees with an additional 44% who are seasonal employees due to the seasonal nature of our main services.

Our supply chains

Our supply chains include training providers, aggregate and emulsion suppliers, IT services, conference and venue suppliers, and traffic management and road sweeping services within the United Kingdom. We have reviewed the risks that these supply chains can present.

We expect our suppliers to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation. To this end we have inserted a clause into our contracts requiring that they comply with the provisions of the Act and granting us the right to terminate in the event of their failure to do so.

As part of our procurement process, we will only engage with suppliers and contractors who confirm their compliance with the Act. We will continue to keep our employees informed and raise awareness of how to recognise and respond to indicators of human rights abuses

We have adapted our existing corporate policies to incorporate modern slavery and human trafficking issues, including our whistleblowing policy which allows employees to report any concerns confidentially.

Risk assessment conclusions

Our risks are deemed to be low due to the fact that we operate and source supplies from countries with existing laws protecting human rights, and we have established relationships with the majority of our suppliers. Archway Roadmaster UK Ltd. directly employ all our staff so there is no risk posed by use of agency workers.
